Which mentor got lucky this year?
Boot camp of X Factor UK season 10 started yesterday. This year, the mentors were assigned their categories before the start of the boot camp.

Louis Walsh isn’t mentoring the groups or overs this year?! Whoa. Louis had a category different from groups or overs only once before: in season 2 (2005), when he mentored 16-24s and won with Shayne Ward. He mentored groups in seasons 1, 3, 5, 6 and 9 and overs in seasons 4, 7 and 8.
Gary Barlow has years of experience as a boyband member (Take That), so let’s see how he does with the groups. He mentored the boys in season 8 and the overs in season 9.
Sharon Osbourne is stuck with the overs this year. She mentored 16-24s in season 1, overs in seasons 2 and 3 and girls in season 4. Her mentoring results were pretty bad in the past.
Nicole Scherzinger got the girls this year. She had a strong season with the boys last year. X Factor UK has only two solo female winners: Leona Lewis (S3) and Alexandra Burke (S5). We are long overdue for a female winner, so hopefully Nicole can work her magic again.
