X Factor season 3 winners Alex & Sierra have released another song from their upcoming record As Seen on TV. This week the duo releases a studio version of their cover of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.”
“We knew that we wanted to include ‘Say My Name’ on this record because it was one of our favorite songs that we performed on TV,” the duo told Twistmagazine.com. “We took a bit of a chance performing it at all, because we did so in front of Kelly Rowland, a member of the very group that originally sings it… the legendary Destiny’s Child.”
“After getting HER approval, both on camera, and off, we couldn’t have been happier. We decided that if Ms. Rowland herself tells us that she loved what we did, we should record a studio version and capture that sound.”
Kelly Rowland sat on the X Factor judges panel with Paulina Rubio, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato during season 3 in 2013.

“The version of ‘Say My Name’ that we came up with is kind of similar to the original because it’s such a fun song to begin with and we didn’t want to lose any of the spark that came along with the tune,” the group adds.
“Just simply adding a male voice and a few different instruments makes the lyrics and song as a whole take on a new life. We really had a blast working on this one in the studio and we hope that translates into the actual recording.”
