In a recent interview with About.com, hit songwriter and OneRepublic frontman, Ryan Tedder was positively giddy about work he’s done with Adam Lambert:
Yeah, you should look out for Adam Lambert. I’ve done, as of now, and it could change, but as of now, four songs for his album. I’ve never watched American Idol until this year. Ironically, I’ve worked with enough of them you think I would have, but I never had. But this year I saw that guy and thought, “Man this guy’s out of his mind, it’s amazing.” Finally something different. This guy doesn’t care. I love it, and so I did four songs with him. I’m not going to say what the single is. I’m actually trying to find out what the first single is right now. I’ll just say I’ve got these two now that are in contention. I would love, of course, to have the single.
Adam flew to Denver a couple of weeks ago to work with Tedder. At the end of the Denver sessions, Adam tweeted, “In Denver recording w Ryan Tedder!!! Get ready for your Sonic Lobotomy!…Denver Tedder sessions were major!”
Two of the 4 songs Tedder did with Adam are in contention for the first single. Let’s hope they’re not “Already Gone” part 2. Just playin. Actually, Tedder’s infectious excitement over working with the glittery one gives me hope he didn’t phone it on on those sessions.
Speaking of Kelly Clarkson… When asked to name his favorite songs for other artists, Tedder answered:
I’ve gotta be honest, man, “Already Gone” still gives me goosebumps. I love the crap out of “Already Gone.” I love that one and for the first time ever, last week in Orlando I heard “Happy,” the Leona song, on the radio, and that might be my new favorite.

I’d agree with you, Q3. Except maybe this is just his trusted 2nd unit guy getting some coverage he found missing. And Emmerich probably editing around the clock just to finish his movie. And so far, no Adam sighting. So maybe this is fix it in the mix filler they need for green screening Adam later or something.
Chances are high they’ve changed aspects of the ending six times already. (Other than the Cusack doesn’t die part) And they probably haven’t tested. So maybe this is coverage for all the new endings, so they can make the video once they have a movie done.

ETA: Who said Adam is in the final shot(s) of the movie, even TFM runs over the end credits? This is not Adam video, as much as we’d like it to be. I see John Cusack riding, walking, etc. into the sunset as Adam’s song plays.
Here’s a radio interview Ryan Tedder did this week. He talks about Idol (no mention of Adam, though), Simon Cowell, and “Already Gone” vs. “Halo.” He said that the only similarity between the two songs is the key they’re sung in and the tempo, and he blames the key thing on Beyonce, saying she dropped the key without his knowledge.

Interesting interview, he is smart to suck up to Simon Cowell, I don’t know about him batting 100 but he sure is one of the biggest executives in Europe, they are probably working on Alexandra Burke (last year winner of the x factor) right now.

Let me see if I can summarize what I missed today. No real Adam news other than 2012 soundtrack at #69 (irony anyone?) Adam down to #2 (boo babs) and misc tweets that cause more confusion than anything. My takeaway from reading all you good people is: the backtedted dudes likely are laying down beats over Adam’s vox and spoke with him over the phone & Adam is in SoCal filming something that by all indicators (fog/smoke/avg neighborhood) to be spliced into a TFM video,

If the alleged video that is being filmed today is really for Adam Lambert it could very well be for 2012….not as part of the movie (which is totally in the can and done) but for a video of the song only which will be used for the film promo on stations such as VH1 and online entertainment sites. This is often done with songs that become associated with a movie (see Armageddon and Steve Tyler) and the video is then part of the DVD package as a bonus feature.
The possibility of Adam being in the movie is less than 1%….even though the song will be (from all accounts). And yes if their is a video of TfM it will probably also contain some scenes from the movie.

Yes – and this is with very little PR (and no official interviews, etc.) As soon as any more news breaks for Adam (releases something, etc.) it will likely continue to stay high, I’m guessing.

The whole UK album preorder is really odd. Amazon UK lists two albums — one releasing on 11/23/09 for £8.99 and one releasing on 12/7/09 for £11.99.
Play.com (UK) has one album New Album TBA Adam Lambert (American Idol) listed Sale £8.95 RRP: £15.99 Pre-order. Due for release on 07/12/2009.
It looks like the Amazon 11/23/09 listing is for the US version and the 12/7/09 release may be for a UK version. Because why would Play.com sell a deluxe album for only £8.95, their regular album sale price.
But in any case, the Amazon UK release is 1 day earlier than the US release date.
