Jennifer Hudson, nominated for 7 NAACP Image awards, won 3 individual awards in a ceremony, broadcast last night on FOX. She also walked away with 2 more awards, including Outstanding Album for Jennifer Hudson and Duo, Group or Collaboration for her duet with Fantasia on “I’m His Only Woman.”
Fantasia, in Orlando celebrating the opening of the American Idol Experience with the rest of the Idol winners, was not present to accept her award.
“Now don’t start me to crying again, y’all, ” said Jennifer, visibly touched, “Oh my God, it always feels like home coming here. Thank you all so much for all of your amazing support.” She won her first Image award two years ago for her role in Dreamgirls.
After the jump, watch Jennifer accept her award for Best New Artist, and serenade Mohamed Ali with a performance of “The Impossible Dream”.
